THE POWER OF LOVE
By helping others
If we have any strength to help, we will give a hand. Proverbs 11:25: “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
Food bank
The food bank delivers food from where there is a surplus to where there is a shortage. The food bank operates throughout Estonia. Our people are mainly connected with Tallinn Food Bank. Tallinn Food Bank has been operating for 10 years. With the help of dozens of volunteers, more than 3,000 needy people in Tallinn receive a food package through the Food Bank. In addition, the Food Bank distributes food aid from the European Union to approximately 10,000 Tallinn residents each year.
Why Food Bank
Some have more and some have less. It’s sad to waste food when you know that someone really needs it.
Who and how
Janek Hintsov and Toomas Vanari are the main leaders of the activities of the food bank in our congregation. Janek transports food to those in need. Toomas distributes food to the needy in the soup kitchen. Whenever possible, we also help to collect food for the Food Bank in the shops.
Come and join in
Janek is always grateful when someone comes with him and helps deliver food to those in need, i.e. on the “food round”. There you can see with your own eyes the gratitude of people and feel that you are part of something important.
You can also be helpful in collecting food in shops.

Cancer Treatment Foundation Gifted Life
The Hille Tänavsuu Cancer Treatment Foundation Gifted Life is a privately-initiated support fund for cancer treatment, whose mission is to help cancer patients whose treatment the state currently does not consider sufficiently “cost-effective”. The fund primarily supports those in need financially and helps people acquire essential modern medicines, thereby giving them hope, the opportunity to live longer or even to recover completely.
Why the cancer treatment fund Gifted Life
In addition to financial donations, the fund provides an opportunity to give your precious time. By giving your time, you give others more time to be with their loved ones.
Who and how
Who hasn’t seen people standing in shopping malls, events, fairs with a donation box and posters “Give cancer patients days of life with your donation”. Quite a few people from our congregation are involved, for example Lauri and Raimond Lepalaan, Taavi Simson, Vadim and Pamela Rand, and others.
Come join us
Raimond and Lauri help organize people who would help collect donations for the fund. If you see that you would like and can contribute your time, one donation collection campaign takes about 2 hours. It is important to be present and give other people the opportunity to donate.
Raimond and Lauri are waiting for your request and will gladly tell you where, when and how.
