We strive for unity centered on Christ and fundamental religious understandings. We have freedom of opinion where the Bible allows it. We are a congregation where Estonians, Russians, Ukrainians and other nationalities serve God together. We believe that being members of one church and gathering together best expresses Paul’s message that in Christ there is “neither Jew nor Greek” but Christ. For us, it is a strength and value if we can manage well together in the midst of different cultures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tallinn EXPLORER church was established in 1994. and Tartu church 2000. We have our roots in the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement, which grew out of the early 19th century revival in the United States. EXPLORER church belongs to the ICOC (International Churches of Christ) union of churches.<\/span><\/p>\n

Children<\/h2>\n

Children are part of our congregation. They are welcome to Sunday school every Sunday, and older children to church services. Sunday school teachers fill the children’s time with great activities and introduce the children to Christian values that can be applied in life. Every summer there are great camps for children of all ages. We believe that education of Christian values lays the foundation for a child’s relationship with God, a value system and an empathic attitude towards fellow human beings in the broadest sense.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mati considers it important to have inclusive leadership and to allow each member of the congregation to contribute to the development of the congregation. In addition to the church, he has long-term management experience in the financial sector, logistics and several non-profit organizations. Mati has studied music, theology, business management, financial control and is currently writing a doctoral thesis on financial ethics at the University of Tartu. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family, reading, shooting sports or volunteering in the Defense League.<\/span><\/p>\n

Andres has been a member of the Avastaja church since 1993. He considers it important that every member of the congregation can participate and contribute to the development of the congregation. He has management experience both inside the congregation and previously outside the congregation. On a daily basis, Andres works in the field of shipping. He is married, the father of four children and the grandfather of four grandchildren. Mitch is from Chicago, USA. He has been a disciple for about ten years and has worked in ministry for about half of those years. He has about seven years of business and corporate sales experience. Aleksandr got acquainted with Christianity in 1998, and since then he has been a member of the Avastaja church. He received an economics education from TalTech and an executive MBA degree from the Stockholm School of Economics, and has extensive financial and strategic management experience in various international companies. Aleksandar believes that every person is born into the world with unique talents and a mission to make the world a better place. And one of the tasks of the church is to help people discover their talents, expand their potential, find and maintain a living and enjoyable relationship with God, and become a little better person every day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Contributes to the Toidupank charity fund. Janek is blessed with a wonderful wife and three children. Petriina has been a member of the Avastaja church since 1994. She likes teamwork and it is important for her that every member feels important in the congregation. She has been working in the field of higher education for over 10 years and has work experience in an international NGO. Petriina is Finnish by nationality and has adapted very well to Estonian society through her Estonian husband. The family’s two children are adults and the whole family participates in the church’s activities. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, have interesting conversations on various topics, hikes in nature and exercise.<\/span><\/p>\n
